2016-17 RCAEP Tutors

Jennifer Barankovich

Jennifer BarankovichI obtained my Master’s degree in Chemistry at UC San Diego and my Bachelor’s degree in Bio-Chemistry/Chemistry, also from UC San Diego. I first worked in the biotech industry for companies such as Diversa Corporation, The Scripps Research Institute, and Illumina Incorporated. In 2005, I was called to homeschooling and taught part-time at the community college level while teaching my son. I believe that science confirms the Bible: “I have made the earth, and created man on it. I—My hands—stretched out the heavens, and all their host I have commanded” (Isaiah 45:12 NKJV).

Dr. Anthony Becerra

Anthony BecerraI graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College, Los Angeles, in 1998 with a degree of Doctor of Chiropractic. God has blessed me with a practice in the city of Murrieta, where I have served those in my community and surrounding area for the past fifteen years. I have taught biology for Biola University’s Star Academics and for Cornerstone Christian School in the science and math departments, and it’s now my honor to serve the Lord teaching Anatomy for Revival Christian Academy Educational Program. I fellowship at Revival Christian Fellowship, where I serve as a small group leader in the men’s ministry, as well as alongside my wife in Dinner Fellowships, so this opportunity to serve in the homeschool ministry, where our son graduated in 2012, is an exciting opportunity!

Pamela Bradley

PamBradley2016I am a dedicated follower of Jesus the Christ. My LORD and Savior called me from darkness into His marvelous light on June 15, 1995. After a continuous walk with the Lord, I was licensed in the state of Pennsylvania as a Minister of the Gospel, and continued my education in Chaplaincy, with two years of college in Biblical studies and psychology.

Keeping my eyes on Him, I was led to implement a children’s church, start an after-school program for the community, and serve on various boards to bridge the gap between the healthcare industry and the community. In addition, I started a Biblical Consultant and Counseling business in the state of California.

My goals for this season are to feed God’s sheep in this Christian environment, to assist RCA in the growth and development of parents, and to equip the children with the secular and spiritual language of learning.

Michelle Dalrymple

MichelleD2016Greetings and salutations!

I am blessed to be a homeschooling mom of three. I see knowledge as a gift from the Lord, and look forward to sharing that light of knowledge with students. It is through the grace of God that I have the opportunity to work with Revival as a tutor.

I earned my undergraduate degree at Western Michigan University and completed my master’s degree in English and comparative literature at the University of California, Riverside. I have taught at several colleges across the U.S. in writing, literature, rhetoric, and French. Currently, I am a professor of writing and critical thinking at Palomar College and at National University. I have also worked on developing curriculum at the high school and collegiate level in writing and literature. Finally, I have had several writing pieces published–I have written for Court Report and Communique, Practical Homeschooling, the Allegan County News, the Daily Herald, and poetry and online website publications.

Terri Kammerzell

TerriK2016With my seventh year of homeschooling behind me, I can say now more than ever what a joy and pleasure it is to be called by the Lord to this unique ministry. Since the day God called me to homeschool, I have never doubted this is the path for my family, and I have taken hold of the promise that “the Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him” (Psalm 37:23 NIV). I love not only teaching, but also learning right alongside my son, my students, and the families who invite me to be a part of their homeschool journeys!

I have an associate of science degree in math and science, an associate of arts degree in social and behavioral sciences, and a two-year certificate in computer applications. I’ve dabbled in various professional fields, but most recently the majority of my experience has come from tutoring: ESL and a variety of homeschool subjects. In fact, if variety is the “spice of life,” then you could say I have a very bold appetite for living! It is a joy and a blessing to serve RCA’s families in the area of communications, and I’m excited to conclude my RCAEP journey with these three fun classes.

Luann Loop

LuannLoop2016I am a born-again Christian and am thankful to have salvation by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. I have been married to my husband Dave since 1986. We have two daughters, Katie and Karlie.

I began teaching my two daughters in 2002 when God called our family to homeschooling. Throughout the ten years that they were homeschooled, my daughters often benefited from the outside instruction and support of both Revival Christian Academy Educational Program and Biola University’s Star Academics and Torrey Academy. I began teaching at Revival in 2006 and have taught History of the Horse, Young Writers, Beginning Literature & Composition, and Algebra 1.

Over the years, as I have watched not only my own children, but also the children and families who attend my classes, grow and benefit from the Revival program, I realize that God has called me, equipped me, and allowed me to teach His children. Even though my own children have graduated from high school and moved on, I am thankful for the opportunity God has given me to continue teaching at Revival; it is both a ministry and a blessing in my life. I am pleased to say that for the academic year 2016-17, I will once again be teaching my favorite classes.

Steven Singh

Steven SinghIn 2012 my wife Olivia and I, along with our children Zachary and Alianah, moved to Menifee. God brought us to Revival Christian Fellowship almost immediately, and we have been attending ever since. Having earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from San Diego State University, I spent the past decade working in a variety of learning environments. I am blessed by this new opportunity to use my talents to serve my home church directly. As a tutor at Revival Christian Academy, I look forward to educating students in a Christian environment, helping them grow in knowledge as well as in their love for the Lord.

Pastor John Stewart

Pastor John StewartI met the Lord in 1986 at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. After years of professional and financial success and what seemed to be the attaining of the “American Dream,” my life had actually become a nightmare of misery, self indulgence devoid of any real sense of purpose.

After seeking answers through psycho-therapy, self help and various religious philosophies the Lord found me, saved me and changed me. My salvation was radical in every way as I experienced forgiveness, new life, meaning and purpose in life and a hope beyond anything I knew could exist. That living hope still burns bright within my heart today after over 26 years of walking with the Lord and over twenty years of pastoral ministry.

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain” (Galatians 2:20-21 NKJV).

Truth for Living

Kelly Suarez

KellySuarez2016I am a wife to my wonderful husband, Heron, and a mother of three amazing kids – Nathanael (8), Savannah (6), and Sofia (2). Prior to becoming a mommy, I obtained my California State Board license in Aesthetics in 2000, and worked in the Medical Aesthetic field for nearly ten years. My husband and I excitedly welcomed our first child in 2007, and the Lord began to press on our hearts that we would homeschool our children when the time came. After our second child was born in 2010, the Lord answered a longtime prayer of mine and graciously allowed me to quit my job and become a stay-at-home mommy. Our journey of homeschooling began in 2012, when my oldest child began kindergarten. The Lord has used the past four years of homeschooling as a time of both blessing and stretching for me. It hasn’t always been easy, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything! I count it a joy and a privilege to be called to tutor the K-1 All Inclusive class. I firmly believe that God equips those whom He calls! My prayer is that He is glorified through using me as a vessel to teach your children not only academics, but first and foremost, to love Him with all of their hearts.

Beginnings (K-1st)

Heath Thomas

HeathTomas2016I have been in ministry at Revival Christian Fellowship since 2008. I came on staff to assist in the area of Information Technology, Multimedia and eventually Children’s Ministry. Along with an amazing ministry team, we help kids “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Before Revival I had the great privilege of working at Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa. My responsibilities were to see that all Calvary Chapels had the opportunity to develop a website. We set up live streaming at churches, large events, and regional conferences for Pastor Chuck Smith. Each church also had access to PC and Network support to help them navigate the World Wide Web and other technical problems.

My wife and I have lived in the valley since our families moved here in 1988. We attended the same schools, married in 1998, and have two boys. We are involved in our community through our homeschool group and baseball. We are thankful to be exactly where God wants us to be.

Kristen Vela

KristenVela2016I am certified A-G, and I have been teaching American Sign Language at Revival Christian Academy Educational Program for six years. I graduated with my ASL interpreting degree in 2004, and since then I have been interpreting on and off both in the church and in the education system. My heart’s desire is to see students fall in love with the same language that I, myself, fell in love with many years ago.

Pastor Cisco Velasco

CiscoVelasco2016I have been walking with the Lord for eighteen years, and currently serve the families of Revival Christian Fellowship as an Associate Pastor, overseeing missions and facilities. Prior to this ministry, I was a missionary, serving the Lord for nine years in the Philippines, over three years in Indonesia, and shorter trips to Mexico, Thailand, and Malaysia.

I am also a camera geek, and if you can take a picture with it, I will nerd out on it. I have had the privilege to shoot for Calvary Chapel Magazine. I currently shoot weddings, class photos, and events. My passion is stirred when ministry and photography meet and when a story of God’s work in a person’s life can be captured in a single frame.
